A Gospel-Centered Approach to Trauma, Abuse, and the Path to Wholeness
Sexual harassment. Spousal abuse. Power structures. Systemic racism. Natural disasters. Unimaginable loss. In our culture, awareness about trauma is growing, but many of us need a better understanding of it.
This accessible resource for students, therapists, ministry leaders, and caregivers introduces concepts of trauma, abuse, and trauma-informed care. Pastor and licensed therapist Evan Marbury delves into the profound human experience of surviving trauma and explores the remarkable power of resilience through the lens of the gospel. Integrating psychology with theology, this book invites readers on a compelling exploration of humanity's incredible capacity to heal despite unimaginable wounds.
Marbury's trauma-treatment expertise and pastoral experience enable him to bring technical knowledge to a broader audience, offering readers a more thorough understanding of trauma and resilience in Christ. The book includes a foreword by Warren Kinghorn of Duke University Medical Center.
