by Wilneida Negrón (Author)

Don't just keep up with tech at work--help shape what comes next.

The technologies emerging on the job aren't off-limits--they're yours to understand and question. This is your opportunity to engage, stay informed, and help influence how tech is changing the world of work.

Worker advocate Wilneida Negron writes directly to the people too often left out of conversations about automation, AI, and the "future of work" you--the worker on the shop floor, behind the screen, or in the break room. With clarity, compassion, and a no-nonsense sense of justice, Wilneida breaks down what today's workplace tech actually does--from tracking your every move to shaping your schedule and your pay. But she doesn't stop at what's wrong. She shows you what we can do about it.

In this eye-opening and empowering book, Wilneida offers stories, research, and tools to help you

● understand how new tech at work really works--like AI, tracking apps, and scheduling tools--and how it affects your pay, time, and privacy;

● know what questions to ask when your job changes because of new tools or systems--so you're not left in the dark;

● learn simple ways to speak up and protect yourself, even if you're not in a union;

● see how other workers--just like you--are pushing back and making tech work for them, not the other way around;

● get clear on what matters most in your work life and how to hold on to your dignity, purpose, and peace of mind in changing times.

Whether you wear a suit or steel-toed boots, The Human Interface is your invitation to help shape a future that works for you, not just for tech insiders. It is a road map to step off the sidelines and into the conversation.

Author Biography

Dr. Wilneida Negrón is a leading voice on the future of work, with a reputation for connecting big-picture thinking to grassroots community-building and forward-looking ideas. Growing up in a working-class family between Puerto Rico and New York, her early life was shaped by deep curiosity, economic precarity, and a drive to ask not only what's broken--but how we fix it.

Wilneida started her career as a social worker and therapist helping teens and families navigate the court system. When she saw that the tools people needed didn't exist, she taught herself to code so she could help build them.

Now the director of worker innovation and impact at Coworker, Wilneida helps workers organize for change while advising some of the world's most influential tech leaders, investors, and policymakers. She founded the Future of Workers Initiative and cofounded the Startups & Society Initiative, where she convenes founders, CEOs and C-suite leaders, investors, labor advocates, and civil society leaders to rethink how innovation serves people. Her work has been featured in Fast Company, MIT Technology Review, The Washington Post, Financial Times, and more. With a PhD in Comparative Politics and fluency in Spanish and Mandarin, she brings global perspective and lived experience to complex conversations--from AI and surveillance to robotics and algorithmic management. A Fellow at Data & Society and the Atlantic Institute, she also advises the Partnership on AI, Axon's Ethics Council, and Responsible Innovation Labs.
