by David Isiorho (Author), Linda Isiorho (Author), Patricia Bidmead (Foreword by)

Faith in the Letter of James is a theological endorsement of the New Testament letter of James and relates this to a call for the disestablishment of the Church of England. It is not a conventional commentary: not crammed with Greek words or preoccupied with authorship and the direction of diasporic travel for the gospel message. There are such books on the market already, and if those aspects are of most interest to the reader, then this reflection is not for them. This book shall be concerned with what the letter of James means today, reading the New Testament in the language and structure of the Anglicized Edition of the NRSV. Faith in the Letter of James is about the Church of England and its establishment status in English society. With current developments in the Church of England, including Archbishop Welby's resignation over safeguarding failures, the institution has come under global scrutiny and, at the time of writing this commentary, continues in crisis. This scandal will remain the context for church history and theological writing for many years to come and is certainly the context for Faith in the Letter of James.
