As a pastor, part of the way that Fuller gave legs to his conviction about Scripture was to follow the expository preaching method of men like John Calvin (1509-1564) or the English Puritans and preach through Bible books consecutively verse by verse, chapter by chapter. He thus laid before his people 'the whole counsel of God' (Acts 20:27). Although he covered a significant amount of Scripture this way in his Kettering pulpit, only two of those expository series eventually found their way into print: one on Revelation, published in the final year of his life, and this one on Genesis, from 1806.
