by Lige E. Jeter (Author)
"Bread of Tears" The title is selected from the Eightieth Psalm verse Five, describing God's apportion of punishment for the children of Israel's disobedience saying: You have fed them with bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in great measure. In simple terms, there was no rest, no comfort, only loneliness and misery during their Babylonian captivity. Each time the children of Israel became disobedient to God's word, they suffered the consequences for their actions. Disobedience always brings about divine impartial punishment. Part I and II of this book undeniably rediscover this truth of accountability. Part I: "Holiness A Way of Life" Holiness establishes a solid biblical concept that had its beginning in the Old Testament and continues to be a vital part of the teachings found in the New Testament. It is without doubt "God's Standard for absolute Living." Holiness describes a way of life for the church each accountable to the greater assembly. Personal holiness is the most difficult taught because of its peculiarity or characteristics relating to the individual's total lifestyle. It is one's personal responsibility to live according to God's plan for them, and be accountable for their conduct while here upon earth. Part II: "A Nation in Turmoil" This section enables the reader to review God dealing with Israel and surrounding nations for their unfaithfulness and compare it to what is happening to America. This will assists both novice and scholar alike to draw their conclusion about our nation's current secular and spiritual affairs. One chapter is devoted to abortion the planned killing of millions of babies, think about it as America's holocaust. Are we in the sunset of God's punishment; is this our judgmental 9-1-1?
Lige Jeter is an Ordained Minister in the Church of the Nazarene. He served in two branches of the Armed Forces combining twelve years both active duty and reserve. Lige served as a Chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol (Auxiliary United States Air Force) for several years earning him the rank of Lt. Col. He is a student of the Bible and his desire for higher learning has earned him three college degrees in his career. In the earlier years in his ministry, Lige served as pastor in two churches. He spent the last twenty-three years in Corporate America with a major telecommunications company before retiring. In April 2000, established upon time-honored Biblical teaching, he began writing "Bread of Tears" with the explicit purpose to awaken our nation to its current spiritual state of affairs. Lige said, "For more than two decades, I have been genuinely concerned about what is happening across America." His love for people without being judgmental, given the laissez-faire direction many have chosen drifting away from moral living, inspired him to write this book.
